ago, a factory for making sulphuric acid was planned by the local goy- ernment at a cost of about $800,000 but not 'until 1932 did the work get started and was then financed by Kwangst in collaboration with the Canton Government, each giving an additional capital of $1,000,000. which is why the factory is named after the two provinces. Owing to the lapse of time most of the ma- chinery already bought was rusted and more than $100,000 was spent. on repairing them to leave less than $100,000 in cash for running expenses. The raw material used! is
