It was nice to see Sir Atholl and Lady MacGregor back again after their holiday in Japan. Mr... and Mrs. Burlingham were in good spirits after their trip too. Dr. and Mrs. Smalley, and Joan and Mary were all looking very cheerful and we were glad to see Mrs. Smalley looking so well again after her illness.
When Sir Thomas Southorn ar- rived we were very disappointed not to see Lady Southorn with him. And we sincerely hope that she will have completely recovered from her chill ere this goes to press.
After the ceremony of closing the slpice some of us went for a walk to see various developments in the valley, while the others wandered back to the bungalows in search of the delicious tea provided for us, It was very pleasant sitting there on the lawn, and we wondered what would become of these nice little hothes when our engineer will 'shing friends have Bown. The Gloucester verandah seems to get more and more popular for dinner these dog days. It is pleasant to sit there in the cool,

Mr. and Mrs. Williamson were din- ng there with friends the other day, and so were Mr. and Mrs. Fredericks and Mr: "Tam" Pearce. of course we had to just have a look in at the dear old "Grips" afterwards. When I went into the ever- popular Lane, Crawford's Ladies Salon on Friday morning, I saw Mr. Moodle Heddle very busy pre- paring for their mannequin parade which is to take place shortly. This promises to be a real treat as some of the most exquisite cruising suits, golf suits, and morning, afternoon. cockta'l and evening dresses will be on display. In addition they have secured the services of a few charming ladies.
To cope with the "rush"the" Ladies Salon will be moving into their new home, the old Sports De- partment which is also" on the mezzanine" floor. This is ali no doubt due to Mrs. Moodle Heddle's enterprise and to her the best con- gratulations. Be sure you attend the mannequin parade! REVELS AT REPULSE BAT
Repulse Bay again proved the main attraction last Saturday night and over two hundred guests in- " cluding residents danced to the nimic of Silverio and his "Revell- ers." The new song hits from "The Gold Diggers of 1935 and "George White's 1935 Scandals" were played for the first time in the Colony and were received with great applause. These musical revues, will be screen- ed in Hong Kong in the near future.
Week-end Dinner Dancing at Re- pulse Bay is becoming so popular that it will be advisable to reserve . early in order to ensure good table positions for next Saturday night when another successful evening is assured.
