SILK INDUSTRY

!

(From Our Special Correspondent)

Canton, Aug. 7. Following a better, demand for Chinese silk in American markets, the Silk Improvement Bureau has planned four proposals for in- creasing the sales of this com- modity abroad. One effective way, according to the plan, le to send representatives abroad to study the demand and supply and to re- port to silk merchants on

what products art most desirable abroad.

Improvement of the quality of silk is recognised to be of paramount importance. The Blik Improvement Bureau is to be responsible for this plan and will advise silk producers on how to turn out better products. A big publicity campaign should...be conducted for the benefit of the silk producers throughout the province.
