THE MISSING CRUISERS
From Canton Navy
(From Our Special Correspondent)
Canton, June 14. It is reported that the cruisers Hai Shen and Hai Chi got clean away from the Canton River this morning and are now in the open sea for an unknown destination. River trame between Canton and Hong Kong was resumed to-day.
ine murmy on the cruisers is due to the graduai "repistenent by men of the First Group Army. The captains of the Eai Chi, and Hai Shen are appointed by the First Group Army in place of those who "took their ships from Tsing- t80. Rear-Admiral Kiang Yen Chung took the three cruisers to Canton two and a half years ago, when they made a sensational escape from Tsingtao.
Omcers and men of the cruisers were afraid that the gradual re- placement meant that they would eventually lose their jobs' and therefore took the two ships away from Canton. Where they intend to go is not known, and probably' they will seek enlistment in the Nanking navy,
