TRANSFER OF THE C.E.R.
Shanghai Officials Unaware
In connection with the transfer of the Chiriese Eastern Railway, Inquiries were made by the North China Daily News last week, at the offices, of the Chinese Eastern Rallway Commercial and Travel Bureau, the South Manchurian Rallway's local office, and Mr. F. J. Schuhl, one of the lawyers for the Russo-Asiatic «Bank's liquida- tors in the case brought by the latter against the CER. in the Mantao District Court, and the following were the results:-
* Mr. A. B. Tarshis, manager of the C.ER. Commerefäl and Travel Bur- cau, said he had no statement to make...
Mr. S. Ishil, local manager of the SM.R., said that his office had not yet taken over any property be longing to the CER. in Shanghai, nor any documents or books. He added that no date had yet been Axed for such transfer, and that. whether the local G.ER, property. would be taken over by his office or cot, would depend upon whe- ther such property was "profitable or not." Mr. Ishti sald he had just started to study the question,
