The price of Silver in London yesterday was up 3/16 for both deliveries, Ready Silver to 271 and Forward to 274. Small offerings. and buying for account of India and China, were reported as hav- ing caused the rise. The American price was 1/8" lower at 59%.
Sterling opened in New York as 4.77 and closed steadier at 4.774. Market.
Steady but extremely dull. Bust- ness was small and the rates did not fluctuate, the only "movement was on deliveries.

Sterling was available at the opening of the market at 2/0, buy- ers offering 2/0 1/16. A small speculative demand from Chinese. brought enquiries for cover at 2/0, at which rate business was done. as was also 2/0 1/16 for the sec- ond half of May and June.
