London, Feb. 21. There is an impression in some quarters that Hauptmann's law- yers, by successive appeals and ap- plications, may be able to post- poné a final decision for a very long time."
People are recalling the case of Sacco and Vanzetti, whose execu tion took place more than six years after they were put on trial.
But it is stated, there is little scope for protracted procedure in the Hauptmann case.
His appear may not be among the first dealt with by the New Jersey State Court of Appeal when it meets on May 14, but even so, he will certainly know his fate by June.
