London, Jan. 23. Thirty years ago Sir Henry Irving, the famous actor, died and was buried in Westminster Abbey.
Each year on the anniversary of his death a spray of red roses was placed on his grave. Each time it bore the same inscription.
I shall remember while the light lives yet, and in the dark- ness I shall not forget.
The story of the great tragedy and the great romance that lèy with the roses has ended Lacy Irving, Sir Henry's widow, has died at her home in Folkestone.
She was $1. Sixty-four years ago the quarrelled with 'her fa- ther,, Surgeon-general Daniel O'Callaghan, when she married the actor.

"I should never have married an actor," Lady Irving said years afterwards, "though, you know, I was fond of the theatre and dazz- led by Irving, and, of course, we were in love in the beginning.
"But it doesn't last, you know: It doesn't last.
After the separation Lady Iry- Ing devoted herself to the up- bringing of her sons-"H. B." and Laurence, the latter then a baby of four months.
She educated "H. B." for the Bar and Laurence for the Diplo matic Service. Both threw over their careers for the stage.
Laurence was drowned in 1914, struggling to save his wife when the Empress of Ireland went down In the St. Lawrence River, Harry -E B."-dled a few years later.
