If anybody ever again bought a footballer for £10,000 it would, sa likely as not, be, Chelsea.
He would have to be worth's Uttle more. I know of only one of these super-men who might be for sale.
Realisation that dealing with Chelsea nowadays is just dealing with a firm controlled by hard- headed business men changed the outlook of Linfield regarding the -price asked for Bambrick, and made possible a transfer which, a dew days before, appeared out of the question

(BY: MORNING DEW")
Herod, by dint of one good sallop yesterday morning, is now · one of the most-fancied candidates for the Derby. The his grey" was taken over a mile by Mr. Reidy yesterday and although the first half mile took 1,211 (which was hardły w gallop) the second" half took 59.2 seconds, and the pony finished full of running. In view of a good gallop over a mile and a half a week ago, when he proved that he is a staver, his claims in the Derby have strengthened considerably.
Pacific Hall, was also sent over a mile anil finished under `30 seconds, coming home hard held. Those who understand the training times will tell you that Popular Star's gallop of 217, over a mile à also very nice. This pour also was not a bit ex. tended at the finish. Trowbridge went over a mile and a quar- ter in 251.1, the last mile being in 2.131.
Another fine galon was that of Rose Queen, who went aver a mile in 2122, the last half mile being In 1821 The pony finished very well, and appears to be amongst the best of this season's grimins.
The times for the subs show that some of them are getting down to harder work. Of the Australians, Snowy River' showed a marvellous finish at the end of a slow miles did Gold Morning.
