In a few well chosen words Mr. Campbell proposed thanks to Dr. Hu, pointing out that he was not merely a scholar who sat in his study but he was one who had been round the world and who had brought back to his country what he thought was good for its cultural develop ment and had made it his mission in Ilfe to spread this new move- ment in China. It was an honour to the University of Hong Kong that a man such as Dr. Hu should accept a degree from it. (Ap- lause).
