Interference With Investigations
London, Dec. 10. Colonel Clifford, the British Commissioner. of the Anglo- Abyssinian Grazing Commission, and his Abyssinian colleagues on. that body, have been withdrawn since the recent frontier incident between the Italians and Etho- plans.
Instructions have been sent to Colonel Clifford, that, as the work of the Commissioner cannot pro- ceed in view of the recent In- cidents. he should return to British Somaliland.
It has been suggested to the authorities concerned that steps should be taken as quickly as pos- sible in regard to the demarcation of the frontier-British Wireless. ARBITRATION PROPOSED
Rome, December 10..
A demand that the incident at Ualual, where Abyssinian tribes- men attacked an Italian post 'and killed some 80 Italian subjects before being driven off by aero- plane bombers, should be settled by arbitration, has been presented by the Abyssinian Government."
The Abyssinian Government points out that the matter 1$ actually one concerning the frontier" delimitation, and should be settled under the terms of the Italo-Abyssinian Treaty of 1928.-

ITALIAN DENIAL
Rome, Dec 11. Reports that the recent skirmish between Italian native troops and Abyssinians took place on Abyssin- lan soll owing to the Italians cross- ing the frontier were energetically: denied by a semi-omelal state- ment issued here which emphasises that on the contrary the Italian .outpost of Ualual in Italian Somaliland was the object of a surprise attack by a superior Abyssinian force armed with ma-. chine guns and one field gun. It was only after the arrival of rein- forcements that the onslaught could be repulsed and the former position regained.
Rumour that the armed British Abyssinian frontier commission was concerned in fighting also was stated to be highly improbable since the commission had passed Ualual twelve days previously and was at a far distance on the date of the encounter. Abyssinian
