In the interval. 1/8 3/16 was done for the second half of December and subsequently 1/8 5/32 for near, the market easing at this stage to business done at 1/8 for cash. 1/8 5/32 January and 1/8 3/18 February. Towards the close the market steadied ud again and business was arranged at 1/8 for cash and 1/8 5/32 "January and. Business was done during the course of the morning at 41 13/16 for December and 417 January. At the close there were sellers at 41 13/16 for November/December. 411 January, buyers at 1/16 high-

Shanghai Dollars Sellers at 1229 for cash, buyers probably at 1/8 higher.

Shanghal Market Sterling was steady at 1/4 5/16 for rear and 1/4 3/16 for forward but a late wire placed the mar ket at 1/4 and 1/4 1/16 for near and forward respectively. Dollars were steady at 39 13/16 for pear and 33 9/16" for forward receding later to 33 for near and 331 for forward. The market was quiet.
