(BY "MORNING DEW")
The Hong Kong St. Leger, the Anal Classic of the year for grlins, went to Soldier of Britaln. Mr. Li Shiu Pang's candidate. The pony led from start to finish and was never in danger of being beater.
Cavalcade won the subscription-griffing' Classic and Able Ama- #on carried off the Australians' event.
King's Warden and Electric Star fälled to make any impromion at all in Saturday's big race, the distance being obviously too long for them.
Several exciting Anishes were seen, the outstanding one being The five furlongs race where Oak Bay dead-heated with Brechin.
The first and last races provided the biggest dividends of the day. It is gratifying to record once agam that the "Dally Press" tipped five winners and sixteen places in eight races.
