The selection of "Fresh Fleics" as the first production of this season should be a popular choice. Ivar Novello is perhape the most versatile of modern authors and the tremendous success achieved by the play in London last yea clearly indicates that the prefer- ence for light comedy still holds presented, there being present the arst place in the public regard. Selections To Be Shown In London

The Hon. Secretary of the St. John Ambulance Association writes as follows:-

"I should like, through the medium of your paper, to clarify tertain rules about "The Amateur Art for All Ages" Competition which is being run by the St. John Ambulance Association, as I have received many queries about the

same.

"In the first place, each entry should be accompanied by the en- trance fee of 50 or 30 cents, ac- cording to the Section in which they are entered, as this is in the form of a small donation towards the new Cheung Chau Hospital

"Becondly, paintings may be original Cr copied, although. naturally, the former stand a better chance.

"In London recently there has been an 'Amateur Art for All Ages! Exhibition, the proceeds being de- voted towards" Charity.

"It is intended after the local" exhibition to send selected paint- ings to London for exhibition there, so I hope that the local attempt will be a success, both from a charitable and artistic point of view."
