New York, Aug. 7. The American Oriental Finance Corporation's report through their New York agents, Mesara. E A... Rubber: - The • market was steady, Heavy, profit-taking was well taken up.. The Trade were large buyers. We believe that Rubber will sell at a considerably higher price in the near future.
Pierce & Co., states!---
Stocks: The strength of the market early in the session was due to General Motors declaring sin extra dividend. The failure of metal stocks to carry through yesterday's display of strength was disappointing. The weakness of rails and several industrial issues suggest a further test of July low levels.
Business done: 1,079 lota.
Wheat-The market was steady. There was considerable pront- taking which was well absorbed. We would again advise purchases оп set-backs Business done: 74,819,000 bushels.

There were some birillant per- formances in the fitense heat by athletes recently at Motspur Park, where the A.AA. Junior champion- ships included the seniors mile and four miles relays.
Records were beaten and a title and trophy changed Hands Milocarian A.C. deprived London AC of their mile relay title. R. Craddock took a slight lead from the holders just before the first take-over. P. Bowen increased the advantage, and G. L. Rampling and C. H. Stoneley, the Olympic Games runners, held on over the
last two relays so that Milocarian won by two yards in 3 mins. 18 2-5 sees.
Achilles' Victory
Achilles beat South London Hadriers (holders). in the four miles relay for the Victory Trophy. E. B. Fowle (S. L H) gave his team a thirty yards lead which he covered in 4 mins. 29 1-5 secs., but J. E. Lovelock, whose mile record figures still stand on the books, fan brilliantly over the next stage in 4 mina, 21 secs., to give Achilles a lead they never lost, J. F. Cornes (Achilles) break- ing the tape well ahead of H. M.

Cornes had his car stalen in London during the day. All his kit was in the car, and he had to run in a borrowed outût. Junior records went more than once.
