Silver:-About mid-day evidence of control buying appeared at somewhat higher prices, tending to absorb speculative liquidation for September. Banking interests also absorbed some September sales against sales of March at a difference of about 120 points.

The following telegram was re- reived from New York during the AOF.C. night service:

The market' was, lower at the opening but is holding no evidence of liquidation of large blocks of shares.

In the Silver market there is no trading. Bids and offers continue to remain wide apart, The re- ported sale of 100,000,000 ounces of silver by the Indian Govern- ment has been officially denied.
