Messrs. 8. E. Levy & Company's report, through their New York agents, Messrs. White, Wold & Co.. states:

Stocks: We would limit any further buying to minor recessions. Despite the further moderate rise registered to-day we believe the market to be still a trading affair. Business done 650,000 shares.

Bonds: The market for high- grade issues was the best yet and there was a terrific volume of de- mand. Enquiry for second-grades was fair.

Cotton: Spot houses, specula- tors and Japanese interests were large buyers. We continue to ad- vise the taking of profits on any sharp advances, anticipating somewhat lower prices later.

Silver: The market is steady and quiet.

On Balance Indian operations in the Silver market yesterday was on the buying side and gully ab- sorbed sales for account of China Prices show. an advance of 1/8 to 20 11/16 for Ready and 20 13/16 for Forward Anticipated American support gave the marker a firmish tone at the close. The price in New York was. 46 and the tone, steady despite paucity of business. Sterling opened in New York at 5.041 and closed at 5.04.
