competition. an active canvassing and publicity campaign is being ['conducted, and the new name will facilitate such activities. The pro- posed changes will also more close- ly identify the operating concern with the holding company with which the investing and general public is at present more familiar and better acquainted.
The A. O. F. Corp, has received the following report from their New York correspondents, E.A. Pierce & On. It is hard to say whether the market rallied because of the reported agreement on silver legislation or because the volume of selling this morning was considerably less than bad been anticipated. There may be another test tomorrow, if resistance is present at above the low levels of yesterday and we might get a very fale comeback.
Wheat: Scattered showera over part of the grain belt caused an easier opening. Official reports, however, showed that the rain-fall was insufi- cent, the market rallying following Minneapolis and Winnipeg,
Cotton: Europe and the Far East bought and there was also a zotic- eable improvement in speculative buying.
Silver. Developments had a bullish effect on sentiment, the market opening quiet and irregular, awaiting the outcome of the Conference. After the report on the Conference, buying became general on all optious. Senator Thouas bas announced that an agreement, in principle, bsa been reached between the President and the Senate Silver Group and added that legislation would be drafted on Wednesday by the Group co-operating with a special adviser from the Treasury. He stated that the principle agreed upon was that all domestic silver be nationalized at a price not to exceed fifty cents and that the Treasury would continue to buy newly- mined silver at 84 cents, Business Done: 1,820,000 shares.
