Good Racing Predicted In Event For "C" Class

Tomorrow's race meeting at Macao should be quite the best staged by the Macao Jockey Club to date, as the entries are on- couraging and I hear a good number of ponles have been sent across. Most of the local jockeys are making the trip.

There is a programme of seven races including one for Vol- unteers, one for Ladies and one for novices. The first saddling bell will be rung at 1.30 p.m. and the first race will start at 2 pin. This will give visitors to Macao a clear hour in the Portuguese Colony before the first race, as the Taishan sails from Hong- kong at 9.30 a.m. and should be in Macao in about three hours. She leaves Macao at 6 pm.

SEA VIEW AND POTSDAM MEET AGAIN

The opening race over a mile for "D" and "" Class ponies of the Hongkong Jockey Club and for Macao Subs, should provide a good race, and I fancy the chances of the Macão pontes, particularly Sea View and Potsdam, who finish- ed first and second respectively in the Macao Derby. On going over the Hongkong ponies, I see Snappy Eve among the entries and this pony should get very near, al- though the distance may find him cut. Valley Hall is another good pony here and should be a safe bet for a place. Young Hero also may do something it started, but as he appears to have a good chance of winning a race later in the after- noon, he will probably not go to the post in the first race..

An Open Race... The secord event is for non- winning Macao subscription griffins and I imagine Harbour View will take a lot of beatng. He ran quite convincingly at the last Macao meeting and should beat the rest of the entries. Heart's Joy, I am told, is in good condition and therefore may rum into a place. Sporting Chance and Young Com- mander are a pair which are like- ly to give the favourite a good run, Personally I should not be sur prised if either of them won. They appear to me to be good each way bets,

"Soldlers" Favoured.

In the first section of the Belvoir Handicap over a mile..I fancy the chances of the "Soldiers" but in view of the weight that Soldier of Fortune will have to carry it does not appear likely, that he will do very much damage. On the other hand Soldier of Italy is a distinct ly attractive proposition and should get very near to winning.

Chesterfield after his good show- ing at Happy Valley should not have much dimculty in running into a place bere. Orlando has not been turning up at all recently and I should not overlook his chances as

he is a good sprinter and if given a sufficient lead, can be bother

Jack O'Lantern, if he is started, may be a danger here..

It is felt in some quarters that if snappy Eve is started for the Ladies race over half a mile, he should win easily. "As a matter of fact, over half a mile, this pony will not find things so easy at all, in the improbable event of Har- bour View being beaten in the sec- ond race, he should have a sporting chance of winning the last. City subscription griffins of the of Shanghat also is good over half ́a mile, and those who remember" Bong Jockey Club of this season, the result of the Wong Net Chong the race promises to be a good one,
