Canton Loss

We regret that our Canton Branch again suffered a loss од the year's working. The Aerated Water business there took some time to recover from the effects of the cholera epidemic of the prov- Inug year; and mroough sales were fairly satisfactory, the hugh duties imposed on raw materials, and the adverse exchange rate as between Canton and Hongkong, were fac cors which have contributed to the unsatisfactory results. Prices were increased during the year, under review, and given favourable con- ditions, we hope to show better re-

sults this year.
