Investigations have been made by the Economic League into the menace offered to British industry by the recent intensification of Japanese competition, and to give a practical illustration of what that competition means a number of articles of Japanese manufac ture now on sale in England have been collected and are being exhibited at the ofces of the League in Milibank House, West- minster.
Goods of Japanese origin, pur-" chased in the Lancashire textile area, include men's vests and long pants, which are sold wholesale at 1s. 7d. a dozen and retailed at is. a pair; khaki shirts of the best quality, with app fasteners, which are retailed at 2s. 6d. each, and another quality of khaki shirt. with button fronts, the wholesale price of which was 22s. 6d. a dozen.
