TRAINING GALLOPS

Australians Continue To Impress In Tryouts

(BY MORNING DEW")"

From the training times given below it will be seen that the new Australian ponies are galloping remarkably well and it is evident that the ponies now in training are in a class by themselves. On Saturday Bag Tor and Macheth went together over a mile, taking 1.58.3 over the whole journey...

Princess Angeline went over a whole mile, and the time for the last six furlongs will be found below. He was moving very easily.

Mr. Frost took The Goose over the mile and a halfand his last half mile took 1.00.1 which is excellent work, considering the fact that the time for the full journey was only, 3.19.1. Another pony which went over the mile and half was Fanling Fox. He, too. was very convincing.

"Vriday went over a mile and a quarter in slow time, but was stretched over the home straight when he responded beautifully,

Mr. Benny Proulx took Nell Gwyn over a mile, but the pouy, although return." ing a fast time, did not seem to finish too well.

Coming to the subscription griffins, it will be noticed that Sarabande did a very fine gallop over six furlongs and another good gallop was that of Chow Fan over a mile and a half. Can Catchy went over a mile in 2.17.3 (a very good time indeed) but finished up tired.

Chief Seattle (Mrs. Dunbar's griffin) went over six furlongs in convincing style and the gallops of Garry and Ribble were not bad. Prima Donna went very well in- deed, and Soldier of China who went out late in the morning took 3:34 for the mile and a half, the last quarter being 31.4 and the last half mile 2.28.3.

INDIANS COLLAPSE

AGAIN

SORRY EXHIBITION AGAINST H.K.C.C.

Kowloon Score Brilliant Win Over Navy

A full programme of league matches was carried out on Saturday, the most interesting of which was the pre- mier game between Kowloon and the Navy. Some really interesting cricket was seen, and although the Navy put up the respectable total of 194, Kowloon went for the runs and got them! Teddy Fincher, Willie Hung and Mackay all passed the half-century mark and it was main. ly due to them that the K.C.C. won..

As was generally expected, the Indians failed dinally against the Club In their senior league match. They batted first and were out for a paltry 81 of which A. H. Rum- jahn claimed 37. The Club started none too well but recovered in good style and anally won by 5 wickets.

While their senior team was put- ting up such a sorry exhibition at Sookunpoo, the IR.C.' juniors covered themselves with glory on the Club ground and won by one wicket after they were set 172 for

a win.

The I.R.C. seconds are for- tunate in that they have in K. Nazarin, a captain who enjoys the confidence of the whole team, and it appears that they are going to make a bold bid to re-capture the shield.

Club de Recreio beat Civil Service Juniors while the Police were surprised by the RAM.C., but it must be stated that they were two men short.

The results of all the matches will be found below:-
