The president of the Republic, members of the Government and over six hundred relatives were present at the memorial service of the victims in the Lagny dis-
aster.

Three magnificent wreaths, one from the Govern- ment, one from M. Sarraut, the ex-Premier who is at present Minister of Marine, and one from the Railway" Company stood against a black draped cenotaph, the top. of which bore a flame of reiaembrance.
Further deaths have increased the number of fatali ties to 203.

The official inquiry has not yet finished but, accord- ing to some accounts, the automatic register on, the engine shows the signal was not against the Strasbourg express and the fog detonator did not explode.
