RANGERS SURPRISED BY

ST. JOHNSTONE:

TOTTENHAM HELD TO A DRAW

The feature of the week-end football programme was the overwhelming victory Middlesborough scored "at the expense of Sheffield. Although they were generally expected to win, none of their supporters even in their wildest dreams thought they would find the net ten times. Leeds held Tottenham to a draw-that was one of the upsets, while a surprise was also furnished when Rangers were beaten by St. Johnstone.

The results, as cabled by Reuters, together with league tables brought up-to-date, follow----
