DIVISION I. Lincoln Regt. 1 Royal Navy I St. Joseph's 9 E. Lancashires g Excitement ran high daring the struggle at Sookuripoo between the Lincoln Regt. and the Navy. The Liscolos previous to this match had the maximum points for matches played and it was expected that the game would be a keen one, with the Navy Belding a very strong team. The Navy almost took the lead in the opening minute following a dag kick, Cork getting his foot to the ball just in time to save a goal. Both teams were playing keen foot- ball, but the defence on both side held the upper hand. Ash, who was making his first appearance for the Lincolas this season, played a rattling game for his side and he was well backed up by Turner. Ridley and Higgins were good in Hocquard got attack, and Mr. Conacross a good number of centres only to see them cleared by Ratcliffe and West. Idddington was the bet ter of the goalkeepers and appear- ed to have more to do than Heath. Al- though the "Y" Ladies thorough Ly deserved their win it must be said, that the champions fielded several reserves. If the Cham- plans had turned out their full team, the result would have been different for they had quite a fair share of the play. Miss O, Brown and Miss O. Dalziel, the "Y" left and right wingers, were in splend- ed form and their excellent stick work out-played the Hongkong Ladies defence on numerous occa- sions. It was from the latter's 'centre that "Y" scored in the first few minutes of the game with a high shot.
