“HOLD YOUR MAN"

Starting To-morrow At Queen's

Jean Harlow and Clark Gablë are teamed again in "Hold; Your Man," which opens' to-morrow at the Queen's Theatre, following in the wake of their smashing suc- čess in "Red Dust,” “ which brought a popular demand for the present reunion.

In a story calculated to afford the co-stars opportunity for per- formances fitting their individual talents and personalities. Metro- Goldwyn-Mayer offers a produc- tion both intensely dramatic and romantic. An" original by Anita Loos. the story concerns à rowdy love affair that being as a sketchy human romance.

Sam, Wood Kas directed the picture with a fine valuation 02 the starring pair's popularity. His tempo is swift and smooth; and the love scenes are about as warm as this reviewer has seen In many a day—or night.

SYMPATHY AND HUMOUR.

As the cheap little drifter who goes to prison for the man she loves, Miss Harlow endows her characterization with A wistful sympathy and humour. Partieu- larly in the incident in which she awakens to approaching mother- hood is she effective. Gable banters his way through the early part of the picture with delight- ful nonchalance which sharply" contrasts" his important work in the dimatic sequences when he risks arrest Op 匿 murder charge to give a name to the un- born child:

In front of the cameras was an- cther all-star cast. Miss Pick- ford's, leading man was Leslie Ho- ward and the other girl, Mona

Maris. Others in the cast are C. Aubrey Smith, Blanche Frederici, Doria Lloyd, Herbert Evans, Ned Speeka and Jerry Stewart.

"Secrets," it will be recalled, is based upon the stage play of Rudolf Besier and May Edginton which was produced in New York by

Sam Harris.
