Asia Lands, Limited, has received the following report from their New York correan gudents, E. A. Pierce & Co. The market continues to show little or nothing on the surface, but we think the underlying tone is quite hopeful. Oila appear gradually to be gaining strength.
Wheat: The local professional market was influenced by the advance in the Sterling exchange and in the price of gold. The market is valno- rable to selling on account of lack of short interest. Statistics are bullish. Export business has been fair.
Cotton: There was rather broad demand from foreign and domestic spinnar Speculative interest was responsible for the advance and offer- ings were increased considerably at around the ten-cent level for December. Silver: The main feature was the talk of remonetisation and prices showed good resistance to selling pressure. It was rumoured that there was some buying for speculative and foreign accourt.
