Asia Lands, Limited, has received the following report from their New York correspondents, E. A. Pierce & Co. Trading opinions this afternoon favoured the idea that most cleaning up in the shape of liquidation of long accounts had been accomplished. There was considerable short covering. In the late session of the market there was no particular news, except for the announcement of the Government's intention to purchase one million bushels of wheat.
Wheat: Renewed liquidation caused an early decline. The announ- cement that the Government is buying for cash and future delivery for relief purposes encouraged support.
Cotton: Sentiment vsered strongly to the constructive side. Long" liquidation seems to have dried up and hedge selling was only moderate
Silver: Opened up higher on higher cable advices and later advanced sharply in sympathy with other markets Bank buying persisted throug hout the session.
Business Done: 2,480,000 shares.
