'Bus Conductor Fined At Kowloon
A conductor employed by the Kowloon Motor Bus Company, was charged before Mr. Wynne- Jones yesterday with attempting to defraud the company on Sep- tember 4.
Detective Sergeant Lamont said defendant gave two tickets, Nas 3310 and 3331, to Corporal Whit- more 'and · bis - wife when they boarded the bus at the junction of Nathan Road and Waterloo Road at 7 p.m. on Saturday. The two tickets should have had consecutive numbers.
After handing the two tickets to Corporal Whitmore, accused wanted to take them back because. he said, one ticket was for Mrs. Whitmore. Corporal Whitmore re- fused to separate the tickets.
Later, an inspector boarded the bus, and accused once again tried to get Corporal. Whitmore to give one ticket to his wife. Corporal Whitmore again refused."
On examining the tickets, the inspector asked Corporal Whit- more where he and his wife board- ed the bus, and the latter told him. The Inspector reported the matter to the Company and later to the "Police."
