London, Aug. 31. Kent wound up their county cricket programme with a brilliant win in two days against Middlesex at Lord's, the match finishing this afternoon when Kent set to score. 32, obtained them for the loss of four wickets.

The encounter was marked by the performances of three players

"Patsy" Hendren earned the die tinction of scoring centuries in both innings; "Tich" Freeman for the fifth time in first-class cricket took 16 wickets in a match; Leslie Ames, the leading batman of the year score his seventh century of the

Freeman 15 for 122. But even Hendren could not en. tirely thwart Freeman, whose guile. was such that he had the rest of the

batsmen at sea.

Freeman took eight wickets for 64 in the first innings and followed this up with another for 56, his complete analysis being 15 for 122. That the wicket was not half bad as the Middlesex scores would suggest is "indicated by the free manner in which Kent collected runs. They came at such a pace that with the total at 380 for 9, the innings was declared closed.

Ames led the way with a typical Knock of 125, this being his seventh three-figure innings of the season.

Set with the simple task of seor- ing 32 to win. Kent went for the runs quickly and in so doing lost wickets before they were obtained.-Reuter,

For Decision

The lawn bowls xtures for the week-end are of exceptional' in- terest as both the Championship. of the senior division as well as the honours in the Spey Royal Competition will be decided."

·

The senior division champion- ship will be played on the Club de Recreio rinka to-day between the Kowloon. Bowling Green and the Civil Bervice C.C. Both teams will be handicapped by the fact that they are playing away from home. The Bowling Green, look slightly stronger than the Civil Service team and they haye, on the whole, a slightly better chance than the Civil Service of annexing the hon ours. The Bowling Green have been leading throughout the sea- son and it was only their defeat at Taikoo that enabled Olvif Service to draw level with them. The odds are in their favour to-day, as the "Civil Bervice team do riot seem to

like the Recreio's rink

The Spey Royal Final between Craigengower C.C. and the Kow- Ploon Dock Recreation Club is to be played to-morrow at 3 p.m. on the Civil Service rinks, Craigengower should win as they have an excel- lent team in Buchanan, Bradbury, Beer and Omar. So far this com- bination has proved exceptionally. strong as the Kowloon Dock team undoubtedly is, they will have to be at the top of their form if they are to avoid defeat.
