SILLY SYMPHONY SETS WORLD RECORD

What is undoubtedly the "greatest record over hung up by a short feature is being registered by "Flowers and Trees," the first; Silly Symphony in colour which is now shown in its 28th week in the West End of London. The Disney featurette had its London opening at the Tivoli Theatra where it has played for four weeks, it is now playing at the Plaza, the largest theatre in that section. and there is no telling how much longer it will run there, the end is not yet in sight, according to all reports from London. What a magnificent testimonial, so Hong Kong theatre goers have something to look for ward to, when this appears at the King's Theatre · in conjunction with "Scarface" which is coming to the King's Theatre on Jurs 11. 12, 13 and 14.

Whatever the attractiveness of kingship might have been be fore Sydney Howard went Helgia, no glamour was left after a few hours of masquerado as King of Helgia. * It's A King,” a picture of de- lightful nonseres which starts its run today at the Central Theatre. It is about the funniest film ever made. In this story of delightful nonsense, Albert King, an insur- ance agent and King Albert of Helgia, take holidays simultane- ously. There is a striking resem- blance between the two men, King Albert's departure from his king- dom is inconvenient for the Chan- cellor, as the Chinese and Afghan Ambassadors are expected any day. The king has left no word aa to his destination, or probable day of return, and the railway officials at the frontier are not to be blaared, when they mistake Al- bert King for King Albert, and wire to the capital that the King is returning. The chancellor makes the usual preparations for the re- ception of His Majesty, and when he realises that the. frontier offi cials have made A mistake, r- solves to carry on with the pra

THE STORY OF AN INSURANCE AGENT WHO BECAME KING FOR A DAY & A HALF. voice

It is an outstanding entertain- ment, with its wonderful setting and still more wonderful music. The picture is as strong in its comedy element as it is in its music. It concerns a noted Opera whose magnificent Binger coupled with his good looks makes him a favourite with the Indies. He is managed however by one strong minded lady, nickname Non-stop who handles all his affairs and rushes him from one

opera house to another with perfect good will. On the train to Bucharest he meets a friendly stranger, why although a crook, has charm of manner, and over two bottles of firm champagne they become friends. Inspired by the wine, be decides to break his journey at Zern, and succeeds in giving Non- stop the slip. In Zern he is far ious to find that his fame has preceded him, and punishes the persistent Keretsky, who is now, after engaging himself Fortare's secretary, he forces him to assume his personality. Quite a few com plicsions ensue particularly when Ferrare finds himself arrested as the erock and he has to sing to prove that he is the noted singer and not the crook as they suppose. However, his wonderful voice even- tually wins his case and the girl" of his choice.
