In the second division the Yacht Club again sustained a defeat, con- ceding full points to the Police R.C. This is their second defeat and if the Yacht Clab are going to remain in the race for league honours this year they will have to give away no more ground. Tenorio's win in the last race of the day was his first success and the pony carried 101 pounds over n mile in 2.04, which is pretty good going. I am glad this pony has at] last won a race as he came to Hong Kong with a big reputation which
earned for him many supporters, but the pony had failed in all his previous appearances on the course and drove away practically all his supporters, so that when he did win, there were very few tickets on him, only 189. backers out of a total of 3,305! It was
pity the decision to postpone the V.R.C. night fete was last when it looked as if the rain made during the afternoon of Friday was not likely to stop. Actually just after the decision was made to postpone the programme the wea- ther showed signs of behaving, and although the night was not clear, there was no rain at all and, the fete could have been held without interruption. On the whole, how ever, one is glad that the decision to postpone until this Saturday was good exhibition to hold it before made an it would be a waste of a meagre attendance. I heard during the week that plenty of keen rivalry is to be expected and E. B. da Roza is strongly fancied this year for the one who is well up in the swimming sprint events. It is reported, by world, that he has done the fastest two lengths this year. Let us hope that Roza will share a better fate this year at the sports than he did in previous seasons when be ap peared to have no luck whatever.

Of the twenty matches down for decision in the three Divisions and the Mixed Doubles of the Tennis The more I see of the lawn bowls League last week only eight were league this year, the more I am played off, the weather being, as convinced that the final result is unkind as at the beginning of Lat very open and it is never surprising season.
