National Gallery of Scotland.
The Trustees of the National Gallery of Scotland announce the acquisition of an important work by Botticelli, a hitherto unrecord- ed or undesoribed Portrait of a Youth. The pictura was for many years in a. private collection in France, and has been purchased from Messrs. Ehoedler, London. It is closely related to the picture in the Louvre attributed to the school of Botticelli, but careful comparison leaves little doubt of the superiority of the Edinburgh panel.

Caparica Coast in Portugal.
To enhance the beauty of the famous "Sunshine Coast" of Portugal, a group of British capitalists has formed a syndicate with capital of £1,000,000 to develop the Caparica coast on the Southern bank of the mouth of the Tigus.
The locality is an ideal spot for yatching, fishing and other aquatic sports and has been libérally `en- dowed by nature.
The proposal is at present being investigated.
