Fanlingiton will be very sorry indeed to know that Mr. M. W Budd has been transferred to Muk den and that he left Hong Kong last Saturday afternoon. Hin loss will be keenly felt by the golfing fraternity. During the short time that he was hero be made many friends who will certainly miss him very much indeed.

Fine weather favoured the open- ing day of the Hong Kong Cricket Club tournament yesterday when quite a number of spectators, in cluding many players, turned up to the courts to watch the matches, and judging by the keen interest taken, the tournament bids fair to be well patronised, In all, six matches were decided, the courts in the Cricket Club presenting a scene of activity.
