COO COO BAY DOES BEST GALLOP OF THE PRESENT SEASON: THREAT TO TRENTBRIDGE

THE RAINCLOUD DOES WELL IN AUSTRALIAN CLASS

One of the best gallops amongst

the Derby griffins was seen yester day morning when Mr Dunbar's candidate, Coo Coo Bay went over a mile and came home full of run- ning in 2.00. This is the best mile performed by the new batch of ponies and will earn for the Pony a good many more supporters than hitherto so far as the Derby position is concerned. So far, it would seem from the training per-

formances that there are only two ponies in the Derby, Trentbridge and Coo Coo Bay and it is difficult to tell, in view of the excellent performances put in by both can didates, which one is more likely to win. There ought to be a good race on Derby Day when these two ponies meet.

I am afraid, Prins Donna, a much-fancled candidate will have to show very much improvement if he is to be seriously considered as n challenger to Trentbridge and Coo Coe Bay. Prima Donna is a good pony, but to date she has not shown anything which would merit her being included among those likely to figure prominently in the Derby finish.
