Miss Fearon won the ladies' event, riding City of Shanghai to victory Mr. Samson's Alexandra Hall. in convincing manner. She is cer tainly one of the best lady jockeys at the moment and but for her handling City of Shanghai would not
have won.

Mr. Butler on Drian was made a favourite for the first race, where there were five starters. The pony, getting away, well stayed in front from start to finish. Tien Feng Shan and Genghis Khan accom panied him over the first half mile when the latter dropped out of the raea Allwoll came up with a rush in the last quartor mile to tako second place from Tien Feng Shan by two and a half lengths,

In the Caer Clark Cup competi- tion "match"played on: Saturday be tween Hong Kong Ladies' Club and St. Andrew's Club ladies, on the Marina ground, the Hong Kong tein won by the only goal scored.
The winners did very well as they were playing on a ground to which they are unaccustomed and their centre-half. B. M. Pope was a not- able absentee D. Robertson who played in this position, however, played a really good game.
The only goal of the match was scored in the frat half by M. Alun Jones. Both goalkeepers were in great form and stopped any number of hot shots. The game was ex- trömely even and the score a fair reflection of the run of the play,

The other match in the Caer Clark competition was between: Club de Recreio and "Y" ladies at King's Park, the former winning by two goals to one.
The first goal of the match was scored by A. Alves for Recreio, but after a series of attacks B. Walker put the Yön equal terms. The winning goal was shot by C. Botelho during the second half
The "Y" had bad luck, though B. Walker hurting her knee in the second half and having to leave the field.

The time of 2.07.3 was ex- coptionally fast for this class and Banjolina must have been very fit to return this time, Cabinet Hall was fairly well backed but was Among the tail-enders all the way.
The Gosforth Handicap, Donald Black, one of the most promising novices won with Valley Hall in this race, ousting several heavily backed favourites and pay- ing his supporters 1998 for a win Orlando made all the running, but Valley, Hull passed him before the straight was reached and won as he liked. Wonderful Stag and Gold Mine just pusted Orlando on the post.
The Ladies Race, Whoopoo (Miss Scott Harton) was a hot favourite for the ladies race but the pony only just managed to scramble into a place. City of Shanghai Miss. Fearon-up, won the race from Toby ridden by Miss Booner. Until Then (Miss King) put up a good rush at the finish bat. was just beaten out of a place,
The Lingfield Handicap, There were five starters in the last race of the day and Tien Feng Shan, who was started earlier in the day, won from Blus-Plane Now King and Venturous, two heavilý backed candidates were unplaced, The winner paid over 10-1 for s wm.

The Scouts led at the interval by two goals, MacNider (3) Woolley (9) and Bond having scored. For the ladies, R. King played well on the left wing, while A. Nicol, B. Frank- lin and E. O'Hagan shone in the defence.
