ARRIVAL OF SANTA BY AIR

GAY CROWDS AT KAL TACK

Thousands of excited little child- ren, muny accompanied by their parents, assembled at Kaj Tack last, Saturday to welcome the arrival of Santa Claus. to the Colony. It was a pretty aight to see so many littla ones both foreign and Chineas gathered together, and to watch their expactant faces scanning the sky for the first, glimpse of Santa.

At scheduled time a, 'plane'could. be seen dying over the hills and ns it neared Ka Taek. Santa himself was visible leaning out of the gaily. decorated 'plane waving greetings to all assembled to meet him. The thousands of soattered children made landing a somewhat difficult feat, but after circuiting the field for some time, Santa at length alighted and a rapturous greeting was afforded him, Santa shook hands with all the children, hand- ing them little bags of sweets and inviting them to come to see him before Christmas."

Mr. Curtis, the pilot, explainer! how he had fetched Santa from his Iglon in the North Pole and re- counted a low of their adventures en-route, and how exciting at hád been dropping the little parachutes, over the Colony. He then explain. ed that he was leaving Santa'to proneed to his headquarters on the Roof Garden of Sincere's while he flew back to Iceland to „atay ntl Santa's home until the Christmas festivitios were over. Before leav ing he offered shont flights to those interested and the first to venture in Santa's 'plane was Mr. Ma Man Fai, manager of Sincere Co. Others followed, including some` membora of the staff and a lady.
