Without the slightest effort, Liberty Bay, the best pony ever to race in Hong Kong set up a new mile and a half record on Saturday, whoz, ruaning at 161 pounds in the St. Andrew's Stakes. He made the rest of the faid (all "A" Class contenders) look like cart horses.

The day was full of surprises and punters had a big dividend from the very first race when The Sheldrake, receiving a conces sion of 300 yards in the " Ewo" race, staggered home in front of the favourite, Night Shirt. The winner, which was ridden by Mr. R. T. Crowe, paid 3105.50 for a win,

Two other substitial dividents were paid during the day. In the fifth race, Mr. Caplan brought home Gold Ring in a field of nineteen to pay $83.50 for a win while two races later, Mr. Frost brought home The Tiger to pay 351.40 for a win.

"The Tiger, having run well during Cream Cracker the whole of the second half of this year, struck a very good patch on Estrellita Saturday and accounted for this race in 2.03.2 seconds. Blue Star was prominent most of the way but found himself outmatched in the straight. As for Champagne Bay, I Kunnot understand the pony for he ran at five pounds less than his last appearance when he won in 2.04. The feature of the wook-end's football was the match between the Canton Police and a team representing the Hong Kong Police. The game was played at Caroline Hill before a large gathering, a large proportion of whom suppoited the visiting team, whose win over the locals proved very popular

By virtue of their victory over Kowloon the Royal Artillery now head the first division of the League. The Lincolns, playing the Navy, took full points in a somewhat uninteresting game.

Six longue games in the second division were played and the results were pretty much as expected, except in one instance where South China got the batter of the Artillery by the odd goals in ive.

The fight for leadership in the third division is getting more and more interesting. St. Joseph's dropped a valuable point when they drew with the Athletics and although they still hond the table, both the Borderers and the Lincolne are in a position to catch them up.
