NEW COLOURING. OF FUNNELS

As a result of the formation of

| the Royal Mail Lines, Limited, the present intention is that the vessels of the Nelson Line shall be asso- ciated with others and that the. distinctive appearance of the fun- nels shall be changed. At present the funnels of the Nelson Line ahips have a black top, which is followed by white, black, and white bands and then rod colouring. This distinctive appearing of the fun. nele has been identified with the ships of the Nelson Line for more than 35 years. The hulls are paint- ed a French grey, which has prov. ed not only attractive in appearan but also economical, and the ships have been easily recognizable from a distance, The intention is i that, in future, the funnels of the Nelson Line ships shall be painted [ cream, like those of the vessels of
