LONDON, Sept. 3. GREAT Britain's new duties, de- signed to assist home industry, will come into force on September 9, it is announced to-day.

The duties are sat on the advice of the Duties Advisory Board, over which Sir George May presides.

The duty on leather gloves, for instance, has been increased from

10 to 30 per cent. Thus will im- ports be cut down.

Similar imposte will assist the production of eutlery, hair combs, paper, poultry, meat pastes and
