PLEASANT FUNCTION AT WEST. POINT HOTEL LAST NIGHT.

CHINESE FRIENDS HONOUR RETIRING DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS,

A very large and representative gathering was present as the Kam Ling Hotel, West Point, lame night, at a dinner given in honour of the Hon. Mr. H. T. Creasy, Wirbetor of Public Works. by his Chinese friends. Mr. Creasy shortly proceeding hone on retirement, and the esteem in which he is held by both the Euro- pean and Chinese communities was evidenced by the speeches made by the principal hosts and guests. The guests included many mera- hera of the Services and the Government Service, the G.O.C.
