I wish to congratulate you on your latest production "Humanity" which I saw at the pre-view as the Central Theatre.

You bave chosen very fine Chinese scoveries as background for the picture.. which incidentally gives a true glimpse of life in China. The cast also is worthy of note, and in my opinion the acting represents a marked improvement in Blis yat produced.

I feel confident that this picture will appeal to Foreign_as_well-is-Chinese cinema fans.

LETTER FROM

THE AMERICAN TRADE COMMISIONER

Through your courtesy, Mrs. Barringer and I had the great pleasure of seeing a pre-view of your picture "Humanity Saturday, April 23rd.

We both greatly enjoyed the picture, As the writer spent two years in European Russia in charge of American relief.opera- tions during the great Russian famine of those years, I can rouch for the excellent "ahots" that you have showing real famine conditions. I think that this is a splendid picture, and, as you say, should appeal to both Europena and Chinese audiences. The close-ups were particularly good, and Although in spots the photography might have been improved upon, on the whole I consider it a very high grade production.

Thanking you for having remembered me when you showed this picture.

1 ILID,

Very truly yours,

HUMANITY.”"

In congratulating you upos your success in ate production, I wish to slate. that, the picture discloses a most pathetic story, very finely told, noted and photogfa. phed. The famine problem is very vividly portrayed and the film should give the world a true glimpse of village life in the interior of China.

On the whole, my Associates and I corsider thle pietura is the greatest triumph- yet achieved by your Company and it is worthy of the attention of nor only the Obinese people but all foreigners who would undoubtedly find interest from an insight of the life and existence of villagers in Obing.

With best wishes to you and your Company for every mucosal in the exploi tion of the above film.

Toors very truly
