Some Bixes. There had been some tremendous hitting off the very weak Navy bowling. Hamilton had five sixes, Moir one, Bryant two and Williams two, and there were one or two mure that only juge failed to go out of the ground. The most remark able fact however, connected with the innings was that Lieus-Comdr. Shaw did not, concede single extra behind the stump in a total of only two short of five hundred

STORAGE BATTERIES FOR YACHTS.
REMARKABLE NEW TYPES.

"Interesting facts concerning the development of the storage battery for use in yachts are becorded. "In a brochure issued by the Chloride. Electrical Etorage Company to ex plain the work of its product, the Exide-Ironclad battery.
The company has developed the storage battery from the earliest days and supplied batteries to the Victoria and Albert and the Os- borne among Royal and famous vessels.
It is stated, for instance, that yachts were the first craft in which
storage batteries were used, and
that the modern Exide-Ironclada
weigh only 60 per cent, and occupy
only 55 per cent, of the volume of the earlier batteries.
These batteries are now fitted to the submarine XI. and to the American owned German built Alfa.

They are stated to have an un- usually large reserve power, giving. up to 35 times the normal ten-hour dischargo current.
