of two women, of Phoenix, Arizona. 7.28 to 8.10 p.m. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of their room-mate, Mrs. Winnie Judd, who has disappeared.

The trunks were sent from Phonix to Los Angeles, Mrs. Judd travelled by the same train, and, accompanied by her brother, B. J. McKinnell, a student at Los Angeles, University, she went to can the trunks. A buggage agent, noticing blood seeping from one of them, refused to give them up and called the police.

The woman and her brother im- mediately left, but the agent noted the number of MeKinnell's car. This led to his questioning by the police. He finally told them, that his sister had come to him for help in getting the trunks.. When he refused she confessed to him their ghastly contents. He had given her all the cash he possessed, a

Ave- dollar bill, and left her at street corner, where she disappeared in the crowd.

Dr. W. C. Judd, the husband of the wanted woman seemed dazed when told of the affair, and said that his wife must be mad. Dr. Judd declared that he knew noth ing of the chao,

Neighbours of the women said, that they had heard the sounds of shots on Friday night. The dead" women are Mrs. AgnosLeroi, X-ray technician in the Phoenix Clinic, of which Judd was secretary, and Miss Hedvig Samuelson, an invalid schoolteacher.

They were killed by bullet wounds, their bodies diamembered, and their faces crust- ed to make identification difficult, The clothing of tho murdered wo- men, thrown, over parts of the bodies, and some letters and photo- graphs, overlooked by the murder, ers in the bottom cf. the trunks, would have made possible their identification had the agent failed. to note the number of McKinnell's

car.
