Glorious weather, a good attendance, big fields, thrilling finishes and some big dividends all helped to make the Tenth Extra Race Meeting on Saturday at Happy Valley an outstanding.

The racing opened with a success by an outsider which paid 12 to 1 The second raco saw another 19 to 1 outsider romp home. In the third rade the favourite was again well bestes. Then came the Aggregate which was a gift to Valorous and which gave Mr. Pax his one and only win of the day...

In the event for grins, Nippy accounted for a big favourite in Gold Key, while a dividend of no less than $505 was paid out to the lucky holders of tickets on Good Day, which won the Novices Race. In the seventh race the favourite, Royal Flush, was badly trounced but followers of form enme back into their own When Eros, carrying the bulk of the betting, landed home to win by a hond from Sanction.
