TOO MANY - CHANCES FOR

·BURGLARS.

Crime of every type has beon in- erensing in the London area. Dur- ing last year the total number of indictable cases increased from 17,604 1 20,863. The strength of the Metropolitan Police Force has fallen from 92,048, in 1914 to 20,274 nt the end of 1930,

These facts, are given in the on- nual report of Viscount Byng, tho Commissioner of Police, which has just been issued.
