Rain seriously interfered, with the wook-end cricket programme 'at home and in, the majority of the matches there was no play for two days while at Manoboster the weather was so bad, that there was no play at all. As a result of this, cricket was dull and the matches attracted but a handful of spectators. Yorkshire and Northants came to an agreement to declare at 4 in the first innings, and, thanks to this, the former were able "to forco an outright win. Warwick and Leicester also adopted the same tactics but were unable to come to a decision, the match ending with the teams getting four points each.

The Indian Recreation Club made the trip to the United Services Recreation Club yesterday and although rain interfered with the game, they won all six sets that were played to give them the points for the match and with it the Mixed Doubles' Cham-- pionship for 1931 - the second year in succession. The Indians completed their fixtures without a defeat and are to be congratu Inted on their fine record.

Only two other games were decided, the others being washed out" by the rain. Kowloon scored an easy win over the under- graduates in the Mixed Doublos by seven sets to two at Pokfulam while Y.M.CA. beat 0.0.C; by six sots to three in the "0" division.

Buch interest was centred in this match which took place at King'a Park and in some quarter it was monsidered probable that the United Services Recrontion Club might be able to surprise their guesta.

In connection with the backstroke race, L. Roza Pereira did well to win the event from S. H. Wong, but it was obvious that Wong was. far from fit and one can only hope that he will put aufficient, prac- tice between now and the time the team sails so that Hong Kong can have two very strong contenders 2 for backstroke honours. At his best, Wong is a very excellent back stroke.. swimmer and it would not surprise me if Wong ahould even- tually win this event in Shanghai, Roza Pereira is a dependable swim- mer-always in the top of condition and there is no fear but that he will be at his best when the inter- port comes round.

These two put up & very good fight in the fifty yards and finished within a few inches of each other. It was unfortunate that there was a mis- understanding in the 100 yards racó which went to Lawrence, but the way in which Gittins finished show- cd that he would have given Law renca a very excellent race had he not raced 50 yards a few minutes before.
