SURREY AGAIN SCORES HEAVILY: CAMBRIDGE AND NEW ZEALANDERS PLAY BRIGHT. CRICKET,

Perhaps the most sporting arrangement between « two - rival captains in the history of county cricket 'was that between F. EXZ Greenwood, the Yorkshire loador, and B. H. Lyon, the Gloucester saptain, who agreed to declare when each side had spored in the m first innings in order that the match might be brought to a dafnite conclusion. The result was that the match was completed after a day's play, this movement towards brighter cricket being well roceived by the cricket world.

The match saw the veteran Hobbs playing at his best and he added another century, to his already long liat Shepherd and Ducat also entered the, land' of three figures, while Wyatt, the captain of the opposing side, came off with 100 in his effort to pull the game round in the fourth inuings.
