**Tick" Freeman was the hero of the mid-week matches. He bowled like one possessed against Lancashire ́ ́nt Manchester sæd took all ten wickets in the first ipuings for 70 runs. It is inter- eeting to recall the fact that when playing against the same county at Maidstone in 1920, Tiel" did the same thing and this is the third time in his career that he has performed this wonderful achievement,

After putting on 488 runs in their first innings againų. Oxford on the Eniversity's ground, the Now Zea landers met with grim disappoint: ment for rain stopped play after the Dark Blues had only pat on 20 for in reply.
