An unexpected windfall for the Treasury was revealed in the will of Mr. Montague Stanley Napier, lately chairman of Messrs.. D. Nupier & Son Ltd., who designed the engines in the Gloucester- Napier aeroplanes built for the Schneider Trophy' race."

Mr. Napier, who died at Cannes, left £1,249,379. Denth duties will -amonat to £370,000.
